Scott's Lansonic Remote Control

Copyright (c) SB-Software, smbaker@sb-software.com

Purpose:

This remote control applet is designed to be used with "Lansonic" Digital Audio Servers. The Lansonic DAS was a stereo component sold sometime around 2000-2003. The company's website appears to be gone, so I assume they are not manufactured anymore. This remote control sits in your windows system tray and let's you control the lansonic -- play, next, prev, etc, and see what song is currently playing.

Quick Setup:

The install program will create a "Lansonic Remote" icon on your desktop.

  1. Launch the program from its icon
  2. Configure the remote control
    1. Press the <Setup> button
    2. This brings up a dialog that says "DAS IP Address or Host Name"
    3. Type the IP address of your server or hostname here. An example of an IP Address is something that looks like "192.168.1.104" (without the quotes). Your IP will likely be different than mine. You can also use a hostname (dns name) if you have one.
    4. Hit the <Ok> button
  3. You should be good to go now, assuming you typed in the right IP address.
  4. Use the buttons to control the lansonic: |< for previous, > for play, >| for next, etc

Questions/Comments

If you have any questions or comments, then email me at smbaker@sb-software.com. As far as I know, production of the Lansonic hardware itself is dead (what a shame!). I wrote this remote because the built in java that came with the box wasn't working.

Since Lansonic production is dead, it's doubtful I will add more features to this software unless I receive some requests (and donations!) from users.
